小黄书 Announces Nonprofit Status

MILWAUKEE, WI (January 2, 2015) 鈥 小黄书, a regionally accredited, Milwaukee, Wisconsin based private university that will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2015, is pleased to announce the consummation of a transaction on January 1, 2015 by which the University has become a 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt educational institution. As a nonprofit institution of higher education, the University plans to continue its long history of career-focused educational programs with no material changes to its senior administration, faculty, staff, programs or services to students.
The January 1, 2015 transaction involved a merger of the University鈥檚 previous operating entity, Herzing, Inc., into the Herzing Educational Foundation, Ltd., an existing 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt organization, with the 501(c)(3) organization acquiring all the operating assets of the University. In connection with this transaction, the Herzing Educational Foundation, Ltd. also has expanded its board of directors and changed its name to 小黄书, Ltd. The transaction and the resulting conversion of the University to a nonprofit tax-exempt educational institution has been conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements, including the requirements of the U.S. Department of Education, the Higher Learning Commission, and the state agencies that authorize the University as a provider of postsecondary education.
As the University鈥檚 President Renee Herzing stated, 鈥淲e at 小黄书 are very excited to be celebrating our 50-year tradition of focusing on student success and to continue our mission as a nonprofit institution. We remain committed to aligning our program offerings with the needs of employers and the communities we serve. We are looking forward to this exciting next step in the evolution of the University.鈥
